Guard Frequency Episode 047 | Ben Lesnick of CIG

Written by Lennon on . Posted in Podcasts

Greetings Citizens and Civilians, and welcome to episode 47 of Guard Frequency, the universe’s premier Star Citizen podcast recorded on 15th November 2014 and released for streaming and download on Tuesday 18th November 2014 at GuardFrequency.com [Download this episode]

Tony, Lennon and Geoff are back this week and are joined by none other than CIG’s Community Manager, Ben Lesnick! Before we get to Ben though, we take a brief look at the story everyone’s been talking about, Kim Kardashian’s butt. Just kidding, it’s of course the news that the ESA have landed a probe on a comet. In CIG News we bring you everything that’s happening around the UEE, including our weekly Crowd Funding Update, the latest Letter From The Chairman, Around The Verse episode 20, the latest fixes to come our way in Arena Commander 0.9.2.1 and 10 For The Chairman episode 44 before moving on to our interview with CIG’s Community Manager, Ben Lesnick where he answers about mountpoints, varients, and a whole variety of questions from our Livestream (including letting us know about a certain Avenger Mission Pack). In Nuggets for Nuggets we bring you right up to speed on Anvil Aerospace, and finally we tune into the Feedback Loop and let you join in on the conversation.

Great Show guys! Same chemistry as Top Gear UK, but with spaceships… what is not to like!
As a side note: Erin Roberts, the method behind Chris’ Madness, not enough credit. A lot of fun to talk to, very humble, down to earth, in contact with the community and has this energy and passion for the game that is remarkable. I’ll say this game is in very good hands!

Karthu-Al is currently my favorite ship, nice design and superb thrust system. Too bad it was a little out of my budget, still waiting for a ship that speaks to me at my budget.

    Wonderful show everyone.

    Great show as usual guys,

I think the Aegis Terrapin should be the next starter ship, because there haven’t been a lot of ships that suggest the non-combat roles are viable solo – every other role-specific ship has been a 2-seater at minimum.

That said, I think understand why the Reliant’s winning; one of the most hyped and arguably most unique features of SC is the multi-crewed ships. Yet, if you want to participate in that gameplay, you’ve got to drop at least $100 to get a qualifying ship. If your friend isn’t around, you have to find another ship to fly, which means more money (either real to get another ship or virtual to hire a copilot). If you have friends that might be interested, but not interested enough to drop money just yet, being able to own both a solo ship and a multicrew ship without going over $100 by a large margin will be nice.
