Holy my cow, I beat SeanNewboy to the first comment post. Great show everyone. You’ve inspired me to reinstall Rebel Galaxy and to check out their new cinematic game trailer for Outlaw. Looks pretty cool, like the movie Heavy Metal meets Borderlands.
I’ve used the GPR intro for a ringtone without asking Priority One Productions for permission (seems to be contagious) If no one calls me, is it still illegal? 😉

Good evening.
Through the miracle of time travel I am reporting to you live from Austin Texas, post Citizencon 2948.
It remains to be seen if this year’s event just concluded will be the spark which re-ignites the world’s largest crowd funded project to date, or if instead it will be the impetus for one final dumpster fire set hurtling into the abyss of becoming the biggest failure yet attributable to this novel new funding model.
The pre-show proceedings got off to a dubious start when it was learned that the lone remaining silent partner for the event had withdrawn his support earlier in the day. Reached for comment following the event, local entrepreneur “Tito Bee” at first asked not to be named, but then went on to explain why he withdrew his support.
“When I first met these guys they were talking real big about building some huge company to develop the best damn space something or other. At first I thought they had something to do with that guy out west there in Van Horn doing all those rocket launches. They said I would get to fly into space and do whatever I wanted when I got there. So I figure, why not? I can spring for the hall for a day in exchange for all that. But then, when I figured out they are doing some kind of crowd funded thing to build pretend space ships and are already way behind schedule, dude I bailed. Man, those things never work out. Someone is always gonna be butt hurt. They should do like I did. Put the whole thing on credit cards.”
The last minute loss of funds necessitated a frantic restructuring of plans and inspired some rather unconventional ad-hoc solutions.
In the main lobby fans were treated to an Interactive Feedback Experience in which for $5.00 per round they could participate in a highly stylized RSI Roadmap meets Frogger tournament in which the winner’s favorite as yet to be completed game item would be pushed to the top of the list for inclusion in a patch coming Soon™. The eventual winner successfully guided an Origin 890 Jump across hundreds of floating logs and through miles of oncoming traffic to take the top prize. Afterwards he shrugged, “My Org has an 890 and since pretty much what there is to do in game is hang out, I figured it would be better to do that in style. And anyways, I guess they couldn’t get the bar license thing figured out, so I had all my beer money I brought with me to spend. It’s cool, I guess.”
When I return next week to continue this multi-part report, “On the Road to Citizencon 2948 – After the Fact,” I will attempt to explain exactly how little Chris Roberts looks like Anthony Hopkins, and why Speedo shouldn’t be a word in Jared Huckaby’s vocabulary.
