Elite: Dangerous

Elite Dangerous released a dot patch on Thursday that fixed the broken engineer, among other things. One of those other things they fixed was the behavior of Thargoid Scouts, which are no longer wrecking balls disguised as flying saucers. In other news, FDev unleashed hyperdicting Thargoid Glaives on innocent pilots who only want to repair evacuated stations in the Trouble Bubbles. They are fast, annoying, aggressive and they approximately double the time it takes to bring a settlement back online. In exchange, you get a caustic shard and a propulsion element. We know most Elite players basically play alone, but seriously Frontier, do you have to make it so hard to play together? Also, you may want to pack an abrasion blaster for your next trip into the Maelstrom, because it appears like the next material grind will come from popping mothership pimples. And, to once again prove that someone over there is listening to us, we have a special patch note dedicated to the crime and punishment system, written by Monty Python.

Star Citizen

Star Citizen released Early Access Pre-Alpha Release Candidate Prototype Experimental Test Build 3.19 to the Live server on Tuesday, kinda like a real software company would do with a major patch. And it only blew up a little bit on Thursday night. And it’s only blowing up a little bit today… but, hey, the weekend’s just getting started! And in the grand tradition of the Invictus Launch Week, there will be a free-fly event, exhibition halls, tours, and… a new ship for sale. The new MISC TIE Advanced, wait, scratch that, the MIRAI Fury, is now on sale for the low low price of only 50 Dollars American. But wait, there’s more! You can buy a 4-pack of them for only 185 simoleons. Because you definitely need 4 ships. But what if I told you there was EVEN MORE? That’s right, for only 550 United States Dollarinos, you can get TWELVE Mirai Furies. A whole squadron just for you! Because if you thought you might need 4 ships, you’re definitely gonna wish you had 12. And finally, John Rhys-Davies was at CIG this week in a mocap suit, just in time for CIG to stop selling Squadron 42

Star Trek Resurgence, Hunternet Starfighter, and In the Black

Star Trek Resurgence will release on the Epic Game Store, PlayStation and XBox on the same day this episode releases, so be sure to listen to the whole show before you download it. You’ll be able to take advantage of a 25%-off coupon from Epic through June 15, so if you’re not the sort of person who wants to be involved with the inevitable Day One patch, you’ve got a little time.

In something a little more in the space fighter genre, In The Black is gearing up to deliver a test build to the testers on its Discord, with an eye toward a wider early access release if the test goes well.

And finally we had a little note from Fernando, the developer behind Hunternet Starfight, who told us he is pretty-ing up the pew-pews for the next release.

  • How does CIG fix their Pre-Order Release Date problem with Squadron 42? Is there a way to sell the game without committing to a date?
  • Have you taken the Elite Dangerous LSAT? Can you fix the crime and punishment system without a law degree?

Fury = xwing, tie fighter, B5 fighter, lost in space movie. I agree totally. I cant say that I am not tempted. But i still prefer the original Xi’an ship.

I think that the 12 pack would be an org thing. Personally, I’m surprised that the company isn’t selling org packs, pool your money and get ships for everyone, with group hangers and everything.

    Good one Chiv.

    Wonderful show everyone.
