Guard Frequency Episode 028 | Galactic Inquiry

Written by Justin Lowmaster on . Posted in Podcasts

Greetings Citizens and Civilians, and welcome to episode 28 of Guard Frequency, the universe’s premier Star Citizen podcast recorded on 19th June 2014 and released for streaming and download on Tuesday 24th June 2014 at GuardFrequency.com [Download this episode]

Geoff, Lennon and Tony are back in the hangar this week to bring you right up to speed on everything happening around the UEE, but first up in Squawk Box we’re joined by two special guests — Michael Morlan and Carla Feldpausch of Galactic Inquiry — the latest fan-focused show straight off the heels of Wingman’s Hangar. In CIG News we bring you our weekly Crowd Funding Update, the latest info on the Xi’an Scout, the International Edition of Fan Spotlight, the latest in-universe fiction, the ridiculously in-depth explanation of the flight control model, Around The ‘Verse episode 2, 10 For The Chairman 25 and the latest Arena Commander changes to land in our grubby little mits, before we get all cosy with our space neighbours and learn all about the Xi’an in Nuggets for Nuggets. Finally, we tune into the Feedback Loop and let you join in on the conversation.

Cits and Civs please note that we won’t be putting out a show next week due to the majority of the Guard Frequency crew being on vacation. We’ll be back with a brand new episode on July 5th.

As you will generally be hit in the rear shields, it is a good idea to divert as much power as possible to this location. You can easily do this by holding Ctrl and using the 2 key on your number-pad. If you are using the 300i, this becomes an important adjustment, as the “wings” that are at the back of your ship are targetable even from the front, so your rear shield is the biggest sector on your ship. Lastly, be aware that long weapons bursts and tight turns will drain your shields drastically, so plan an exit route before engaging an enemy.
