Although a little later than scheduled, Tony, Lennon and Geoff return to the hangar with a show that has all the answers you could ever want to know! In this week’s Squawk Box we check out the Bengal carrier in-engine, just not in the Cry Engine. In CIG News we bring you all the latest goings on from around the UEE including our weekly Crowd Funding Update, 10 For The Chairman episode 22, Wingman’s Hangar 71, News Update: The Plain Truth, the Galactic Guide entry covering Behring Applied Technologies, The First Run: A Sorri Lyrax Delivery issue 7, Fan Spotlight: Podcasts, Arena Commander Delay Updates and the 15th episode of The Next Great Starship. In Nuggets for Nuggets we take a look back at some of the memes brought fourth by Wingman’s Hangar as we’re joined by our community manager Justin “ChivalryBean” Lowmaster; and then, as if all that wasn’t enough for you lucky listeners, we’re joined by Ben lesnick, Community manager of CIG for a very special episode of WTFITDFM and more as he answers listener questions, before finally we tune into the feedback loop and let you join in on the conversation.

    Great show & interview guys.
Re: the “Prime Directive”, a lot of the fiction has hinted that some sort of equivalent statute exists in the UEE to protect developing species from external interference, though that probably follows the same rules as piracy; if you’re a developing species in UEE space, you’re good to go, otherwise you’d better hope the pirates that find you think you’re more useful as cultivated pets rather than the latest exotic cuisine.

The latest News Update: Plain Truth touches on this a bit as it deals with slavers. Stands to reason that not everyone’s gonna be decent — after all, look how we’ve treated some of our own fellow humans over the centuries, largely just for living on a different continent… Hell, maybe Earth needs a Prime Directive…

Perhaps a prime directive could be good however I suspect it’ll be up to each individual. It’ll be interesting to see how first encounters go down in the history books!

As for the Bengal carrier in Space Engineers, I’ve begun working on it as a joint effort with Purrfect Blinky. When it’s done, the ship will be the full kilometre long! Purrfect Blinky has also made some incredible ships like the origin 300 series, the avenger, various Hornets, etc…

Great work, I’ll be watching this space hence forth.

In regards to the prime directive idea, according to the lore section of the Big S.C.A.M.[1] the U.E.E. did pass a bill to outlaw the terraforming of planets that include any sentient life, as it was this practice that kicked off Xi’an cold war.

In gameplay terms, and with regards to pilot (Player or otherwise) interaction, I wonder if this will be tied to some system analogous to EVE’s hi-sec/lo-sec regions. That is to say that if you encounter life of any kind in a system under U.E.E. jurisdiction, rules apply. But not elsewhere.

    Keep up the good work,
    Vam
