A storm has left Lennon powerless, literally, so Geoff and Tony are joined by Community Manager Justin “Chivalrybean” Lowmaster for another epic foray into the Chris Roberts’ universe known as Star Citizen. In this week’s Squawk Box, we revisit a few of our more hotly debated topics and bring you right up to speed on what’s new. In CIG News we give you our weekly Crowd Funding Update, 10 For The Chairman episode 29, Letter From The Chairman ($48m), the latest news on the forthcoming Arena Commander Patch, Orbital Supermax episode 3, the latest entry into the Showdown! archives, an amazing fan spotlight featuring some incredibly talented artists from around the ‘verse; and finally episode 6 of Around The ‘Verse, before we hoist the jolly roger in this week’s Nuggets For Nuggets as we discuss the Cutlass from Drake Interplanetary. Finally, we tune into the Feedback Loop and let you join in on the conversation.

Topics Discussed

No doubt you’ve all blown hundreds of Vanduul out of the sky by making excellent use of your guns, but did you know that if your weapon reticule is not green, you do not have a firing solution? Just because the circle is over the target doesn’t mean you’re going to be able to hit them. Further, if your reticule turns into a diamond, you don’t just have a firing solution, you have the optimal firing solution.

While the guns do automatically adjust for target movement, you will likely still need to manually lead your shots (that is, fire slightly in-front of the enemy to account for his movement), especially if they’re not near the centre of your view. If an enemy is being evasive, try adjusting your aim slightly inside of their turn.

A dot and line leading to your reticule indicates the actual firing position of your weapons relative to your target, if not currently in line. If need arises, you can use the dot to fire without a solution. as your guns track toward the target, the dotted line will shrink until the dot centers itself inside the reticle.

Once again, everything comes back to power management, as diverting power from weapons in the Power Management (F3) screen will cause your weapons to track slowly.
