Guard Frequency Episode 052 | Swimming in the Live Stream

Greetings Citizens and Civilians, and welcome to the laste episode of the year, 52, of Guard Frequency, the universe’s premier Star Citizen podcast recorded on 27th December 2014 and released for streaming and download on Tuesday 30th December 2014 at GuardFrequency.com [Download this episode]

Lennon has gone MIA again, so Justin keeps his chair warm and is joined by Geoff and Tony for another weekly romp through the lush meadow that is Star Citizen. In this week’s Squawk Box we talk all about G-Forces and the Force before pulling a crazy eddie and heading into CIG News where we bring you everything that’s happening around the UEE including our weekly Crowd Funding Update, all the good stuff from the Holiday Livestream, and 10 For The Chairman episode 49. In Nuggets for Nuggets… well we picked up some comms interference, you’ll have to make up your own minds; and finally we tune into the feedback loop and let you join in on the conversation.

Topics Discussed

This Week’s Community Questions

  • With the issues surrounding the latest patch (AC 1.0), has the Alpha-Pendulum swung too far to the rough side, or does this hit the sweet spot for you?

    Happy New Year, Guard Frequency!

Quantum Travel! Yes… I can’t wait to see what they come up with! As long as they don’t come up with a certain touchy topic in this podcast….
As to respond to the community question: This is exactly what I expected of an alpha. As backers, we signed for this. I wanted to be part of the development, at least in the Quality Assurance part. I love to be trying to play, reporting issues, as I now feel that I am part of the game we are making. However, this is not everyone’s cup of tea… I know that there are some people that just want to play.

Anyways, great show, apparently when Lennon is in the show adds around 30 minutes to it. Nice. Wub-Wubs in the Imagine Trailer was indeed jarring, as always, is loud R2-D2 having intercourse with a fax machine. The Mustang is a necessary evil, they need a cheap starter ship that is attack oriented, hopefully with a new name.

Ahh yeah, sorry about the shortness of it! I assure you all the good stuff is in it though 🙂 When I’m in the show I can magically steer it where it needs going to keep pacing. You have no idea how many Parsec jokes got removed.

Edit: Having said that, you could find out for $1.25 at Patreon which will give you access to our live recordings 😛

Happy New Year guys and thanks for another great show! Loved the mercenaries on Gold Horizon, those vicious brutes! And good discussion on the livestream, good stuff there.

I don’t think the pendulum is swinging, frankly. To me it’s like a boulder being pushed really hard up an incline with lots of slips, some falls (1.0 launch) and some cursing and bruises. But, as long as CIG gets back up, I’m good. The zenith is in sight. Yeah 1.0 was released too early for PVP, but I’ve enjoyed the new ships, tougher AI in Vanduul Swarm and the other tweaks it introduced. I’ll call it two steps forward, one step back.

I can’t believe it’s 2945 already…how time flies! Bring back the parsec jokes Lennon…ya hater!

For the record StarWars already has inertial dampening, at least according to the xwing series of books.
