    Wonderful show everyone.

I think putting the 2 parts as one whole for production was a good idea. The instant the PU is available, some will want SM, right then.

A great show guys, I really enjoy hearing your views on things, even if I don’t always agree. You present the message in a way that makes me want to listen and give credit to, unlike that ‘other’ guy.

Answering the community question isn’t entirely straight forward. In hindsight, it was not the right decision and should have been separate branches of the code. This is something that CIG knows now that we are getting patches again. At the time they made the decision I have no doubt it was the right decision with the facts they had at the time. I think the question is more a matter of hindsight is 20/20, but we don’t know what the deciding factors were.

    Hello Guard Frequency and listeners!

Absolutely love the show. Happy to hear 1st Verse Problems is on the team! Best of luck with that one, he may have a screw or two lose. Just kidding, he’s become a friend and I can personally attest that he only has one screw lose, and in fact… not two. 😉

I thought I would write in after listening to Episode 80 as to what other games we’re playing. Before starting, I want to say that my wife and I have been backing Star Citizen for several years and remain loyal. As financial backers, we also planned on supporting them during the inevitable rough patches – just as we would want someone to do for us. After all, that is when CIG needs us the most. Of course there are always other facets to a relationship that need massaging, but we still treat this like a marriage. Just because our company stumbles, doesn’t mean it’s time to break up.

Until the game launches I am really enjoying Elite Dangerous. It’s my first flight sim and I’m in love with this type of game play and the universe in general. It’s beautiful. With all due respect to Elite of course, it does make me yearn for Star Citizen that much more. In the end, based on all of the podcasts, videos and articles I’ve read, I see (2) games with very similar end-state visions. In both cases, they’re good people and I’m grateful for all of them.

    See you in the Verse!

I don’t know that, at this point, divorcing Arena Commander from Star Marine would buy them much. You’ll probably address this in the show but Chris mentioned in 10ftc this week that the delay in AC updates was a “fake” delay because they still had the idea that Star Marine and the AC update had to come together. In terms of actual development there aren’t any changes to one that are significantly holding up the other (based on what we know).

Props to you all for bringing up the fact that CIG doesn’t “owe” us anything, legally or conceptually. Too many of the complaints about the timeline and the delays seem to be assuming we’re somehow owed playable assets and modules on a timeline formed from whole cloth. Granted, CIG has made some flubs in estimating/promising releases, but the backlash is way too much of an overreaction in most cases.

P.S. – I tried to cut down on the polysyllabic words and flowy sentences this week because you seem to keep giving my feedback to poor Geoff to read, which is mean. Of course, Tony is having problems with “the”, so Geoff’s performances are still the way to go.
