This Week’s Schedule

  • Flight Deck
  • Get the news from the deep black with Spencer McDunn on Galactic Public Radio.
  • We continue our audio adventure, Guard Frequency Origins, taking great shots, but not getting cocky, kid.
  • Feedback Loop

Links & the Like

  • Elite Dangerous released the Alpha version of the Odyssey update last Monday and “Tony let a crap squat of complete jesters make some serious mistakes”… Sorry, hang on, I apologize, I read that wrong. That should have been “ Tony led a crack squad of elite testers in a series of missions,” but you listeners can understand how I made that mistake. We have all the analysis and insights from our highly trained team of research badgers. And we have SO MANY notes for the devs. I hope they sharpened their pencils.
  • Star Citizen is dealing with an outbreak of butt-fedora-itis and needs to clear up its butt-fedora classification system to handle the contagion. Also, there’s a Tier 0 implementation of the stealth system that is higher-fidelity than anything ever seen, or even planned – April FOOL! It’s just another metaphor-laden-self-own that should maybe have been screened for unintended symbolism. And this week’s Calling All Devs features a look at the Tier Negative 2.17 version of refueling. We’re guessing it will wind up being purple lasers sometime in Q4.
  • No Man’s Sky released ANOTHER free update, calling this one Expeditions. It’s kinda like beyond an odyssey, but, like, its own thing. It’s a timed, multiplayer event that offers great rewards in exchange for a completely random start of a new game.

Community Questions

  • When will we see Tier 0 of the refueling mechanic of Star Citizen?
  • What changes to the death mechanic (or any of the other mechanics) do you want to see in the Odyssey Alpha?

Sounds like you went off the rails that night before you even got onto the rails.

Nutters, I missed this, despite noting you were missing from the feedback.
