Elite: Dangerous

Elite Dangerous is rolling right along with the end of the Thargoid invasion. The players have almost beaten down the second titan. It’s fairly likely that by the time you download this show, the Leigong Titan will be nothing but a cloud of caustic dust and sweet memories. Speaking of caustic clouds, the one that marks the grave of Titan Taranis has dissipated a little, and commanders are starting to haul little treasures out of it. And there’s one in there that demands a little theorycrafting and speculation.

Star Citizen

Star Citizen released Early Access Pre-Alpha Release Candidate Prototype Experimental Test Build 3.22.1 Hotfix 9097523 [dash] 9101073 to the EPTU server this week. This build tested some new changes that are crucial to the next ship sale event! Coincidentally, that new ship sale event just so happens to do something totally unexpected! If players participate in the new Overdrive event, they will receive an upgrade token that breaks another one of CIG’s original promises! That’s right, that token will allow players to own and fly the F7A Mark 2, the military version of the F7C Mark 2! And wouldn’t you know it? That ship is on sale now for only $175. Speaking of money, CIG finally filed their 2022 reports over in the UK. And you know Tony is going to have a good time when the books are so bad that CIG won’t even tell their accountants the truth.

Helldivers 2

Helldivers 2 continues to surprise and delight everyone from players to press. Last week, Arrowhead Games introduced mechs into the game – and let everyone try them for free – after an in-game campaign to unlock them. They also released a patch that included a balance pass for the weapons in the game, including buffs AND nerfs, that managed to only ruffle a few feathers before everyone just… moved on. Next, they added a new flying bug to the game, while denying its existence out-of-game but in-character. And now, they’re dropping hints of the expected new enemy faction in game that has everyone buzzing. Hey guys, SLOW DOWN, don’t burn everything all at once!

Love the show guys, been listening since 2018. Started backing Star Citizen also that year.. I like to think that I am quite far off from being an SC fan boy. I am a Dad and get about a whole 45 minutes a week to play the game. CIG pisses me off on a regular basis, belive me. But I have to say that lately I have been getting sort of turned off on this show. It has been almost like listening to CNN or Fox News as in most other games discussed are so sunshine and roses and then when getting to Star Citizen, the show takes on a vibe like being at a funeral or something. And I can predict the counter point of “but it’s all true, and we aren’t going to be dishonest about the game”, and I agree the game deserves to be ragged on a lot of the time. I also understand that patch 3.23 is only in Evocati right now and there could be features still yanked from it,, but it’s possible that it may be the biggest patch to date for the game. I don’t think it was even mentioned on the show today.😑

I want to hear the song about the mechs.

CQ1) sell the naming of the Squadron 42 UEE fleet ships. Corvettes for $10, Frigates for $50,, and so on. Imagine Shaun’s voice from the ED rp saying “and here we have the Super Carrier Tonyisalwaysright.”

If you have any SC ship, and you think that it will never be surpassed, you are delusional.

“he loves his grenades”, um , are there people that dont? I’m confused. Who doesn’t enjoy a good explosion?

For the record, the Starship Troopers movies frustrate me, too different from the Heinlein source material. The stories were power armor troopers, and had 3 different enemies.
