Guard Frequency Episode 050 | Colossanniversabirthday

Written by Lennon on . Posted in Podcasts

Greetings Citizens and Civilians, and welcome to a very special 50th episode of Guard Frequency, the universe’s premier Star Citizen podcast recorded on 14th December 2014 and released for streaming and download on Tuesday 16th December 2014 at GuardFrequency.com [Download this episode]

Woooo! We made it through the whole year without being pulled off air! What a fun year it’s been, full of speculation, asking the important questions like “Where the f**k is the dogfighting module”, a small bit of piracy/consultancy and VD a plenty! We hope you’ve had as much fun listening to us over the past year as we have making these shows, and we look forward to bringing you even more Star Citizen goodness in the future! Before we start the show though, a bitter-sweet moment as we give to you the final instalment of the FOB Saga (if you’ve not caught up yet, check out yesterday’s post here for a complete back-to-back airing of the preludes), after which we kick off the show with a Squawk Box that discusses what needs to happen in order for there to be life on other planets. In CIG News we bring you everything that’s happening around the UEE including our weekly Crowd Funding Update, 10 For The Producers episode 01, Around The Verse 24 and the latest patch notes from Arena Commander 0.9.2.2. This week we’re officially launching our Patreon campaign so in Nuggets for Nuggets we tell you all about how it works and what you can do to get involved, and finally we tune into the Feedback Loop and let you join in on the conversation.

Be sure to keep an eye out every day this week for a little something special to mark this historic occasion.

Congrats again on the anniversary guys.

The highlight of 2014 for me was the dogfighting module. Many of my friends were skeptical at best when I told them about the proposed fidelity Star Citizen, and their reactions when I showed them the dogfighting module in action were wonderful.

I expect 2015 to be the year of FPS. I expect most of the news, releases, updates, and attention to be focused on the FPS module and gameplay with the clamor for new ships and hangars gradually morphing into clamoring for new FPS weapons and levels. I also anciticpate violently explosive fights in the forums over twitch vs tactical FPS and which of them SC is or should be.

On the topic of people being worried about CIG having a bunch of ships visible and not having the rest of the game visible. it occurs to me that I’m sure LOTS of games have ships being produced first. Or to put it another way, the ART of the game is produced and locked down before the systems get finalized. We are just in a lucky position to actually see what goes on behind closed doors in most games. Like has been said, we’re nearing the top of the hill. I anticipate 2015 to show us a great many things in the world of this Star Citizen game. Happy 50th episode!
