Links and the Like

Elite Dangerous

Elite Dangerous got a little bit of good “retro” press with a nod from Massively OP, which sang the praises of the Fuel Rats as one of the best player driven experiences in gaming. In related news, a group of Elite players is trying to drive the narrative experience forward – or maybe sideways. And, maybe not “drive” as much as “nudge.” It seems that – spoiler alert – the mysterious “Salvation” character is a little bit shady and that doesn’t sit well with some Commanders out there. So they’re going to use the background simulation to make their displeasure known.

Star Citizen

Star Citizen has updated the roadmap roundup with… not much, but we’ll talk about what’s there. Also, it’s the two year anniversary of the unofficial road to dynamic server meshing project. My how the time flies. What is the unofficial road to dynamic server meshing project? It is a 227-slide powerpoint presentation about all the things that have been done and are supposed to be done to implement dynamic server meshing in star citizen. But don’t worry, only the first 120 slides are really important. We’ll be going through each slide in detail, so get ready for the first 4-hour long episode of Guard Freq – what’s that? Oh, I’ve just been informed that mikey has threatened to overdub my voice with a Bill Cosby filter, so I guess we won’t do that.

Star Trek: Resurgence

And lost in the hullabaloo surrounding the Starfield announcement was a little bit of press about Star Trek Resurgence. There was a short playable demo at the Summer Game Fest at the beginning of the month, and a review showed up on Gamespot.com which we will talk about, right after a few words from the top of my soapbox. Mikey….

tried watching the live show on twitch until tony went off on his rant about abortion so i stopped and figured id catch the edited podcast. well you left the pro baby murder in there also. i have no idea why why a show about space games needed his disgusting political opinions left in. after finding you guys in 2014 on the old rsi forums and never missing a show i wont be listening ever again
