Elite Dangerous did actually break a couple of things with Update 14.02, like Thargoid Controlled Systems, some of the Odyssey ground restore missions, and some fleet carrier stuff. But they’re working on it. In the meantime, they’ve made the invasion and alert systems better by taking away only SOME of the progress each week … or sometimes all… look, there’s math involved and Tony will explain it later. The important point is, they’re listening to us by having good news to go with the bad news. Bad news: new bugs. Good news: easier battles. Finally, they’ve started to tease Update 15 a little, and, as usual, are going for subtle winks and nods that are really hit and miss.
Star Citizen released the 31st, 32nd, 33rd and 34th patches to Early Access Pre-Alpha Release Candidate Prototype Experimental Test Build 3.18. And yesterday, they asked for volunteers to stress test the patch in anticipation of a weekend release to all players on the PTU! And today, they did not announce that the PTU was opening up. But they did announce a Xenothreat test over the weekend. They also stated that Early Access Pre-Alpha Release Candidate Prototype Experimental Test Build 3.19 would be actually on the same code branch as Early Access Pre-Alpha – you know what, screw you Tony – 3.19 would be basically 3.18.1. The devs are currently investigating what content from the ACTUAL 3.19 could be brought back into the NEW 3.19, which is just an update to 3.18, which isn’t out yet. And whatever that is, it would be released prior to Invictus Week during the Epic Month of May. And finally, someone is paying an homage to CIG’s spaceships. Except, it’s a Spanish language super bowl commercial.
- Is the new ArcCorp fill-in feature another example of Interminable Scope Creep or a needed additional Immersive System Concept?
- Are you saving up your blue jolly rancher or M & M’s or whatever in anticipation of Update 15? Or are you just waiting for that PowerPlay update?
