Links & The Like

Elite: Dangerous

Elite Dangerous has announced the next MacGuffin we need to unlock to unlock the locked centers of the Maelstroms. You don’t need the green jolly ranchers YET. Also, the bug that many people thought was a bug turns out not to be a bug, but just a really long hard slog. In other words, an Elite Feature! And finally, FDev cordially invites you to share your thoughts and feelings on the Thargoid war so far. So we might. Well, Tony will anyway.

Star Citizen

Star Citizen released Early Access Pre-Alpha Release Candidate Prototype Experimental Test Build 3.18 number 14. Research badgers have reported to us that the elevators and trains are still not fixed, and NPCs are going for unscheduled spacewalks. Also, ISC talked about mining changes scheduled for 3.19. And there’s cheaters all around and nothing can stop them.

Kerbal Space Program 2 & No Man’s Sky

Kerbal Space Program 2 released to early access today, and developer Intercept Games included a tutorial that actually teaches players how to put a 1/10 scale green minion into space and bring him home again safely. According to Steam, the reviews are mixed, but we know the score on that around here. Also, No Man’s Sky released update 4.1, called Fractal, which introduces a salvageable solar system named Bakkin, along with a new ship, Playstation VR 2 support, more features ported to the Nintendo switch, and other graphical, UI, and quality of life improvements. But really, we’re gonna talk about Kerbal. Well, I’m gonna talk about Kerbal.
