Elite: Dangerous

Elite Dangerous had no announcements and nothing changed so we had to go looking for things to talk about. First off, if you’re trying out your new anti-caustic build, leave the ship kits at home. AXI thinks that the extra fins and wings and greebles might make you lose two to four TIMES the hull damage than if you fly naked. Next up, Senior Designer Darren Halil is leaving the Elite Dangerous team for another Frontier project. Good luck Darren, and here’s hoping the new Powerplay upgrade is really great. And we know it will be because you’re getting away just in time. And finally, folks are able to spend more time in the Maelstroms and CMDR Radiumio sent the Buur Pit a screenshot that could either be the 34th century equivalent of the Loch Ness Monster… or our first look at a Thargoid Mothership.

Star Citizen

Star Citizen released Early Access Pre-Alpha Release Candidate Prototype Experimental Test Build 3.18 to the Live Server. It looks like Patch “aw” or lucky number 49 had the chops to go all the way! Planned for a successful launch on Thursday, the update went off without a hitch early Friday morning at 4 o’clock in the afternoon! And it had all the features one would expect with a Friday software patch! Long queues at the launcher, a list of known issues that got larger right before launch, and reports of an unpatched memory leak! And this will be the biggest and best patch ever, with more than 10 times the number of players that logged into the PTU so the team can finally get some data on how the patch works under a high server load. And, did we mention the ship sale? Oh and there was a video on how engineers work, but we didn’t watch it because it will all change again before it gets released.

Starfield and Kerbal Space Program 2

Starfield has an official release date: September 6, 2023. And there will be a special special especially for hyping the game even more in June. So, yeah, we finally know. And Kerbal Space Program 2 loses its technical director, and that is news to the PR team who told everyone that everything was just fine.
