Elite Dangerous released their 16.01 dot patch and nothing serious happened. And while most of the Frontier community team was busy at Gamescom in Germany, showing off their new Warhammer RTS, the narrative team was busy confirming our most “meh” nightmares. It includes “pods,” the guy who voice-acted the Saltuna Cannery Manager in The Outer Worlds, and – worst of all – Tony being right.
Star Citizen released Early Access Pre-Alpha Release Candidate Prototype Experimental Test Build 3.20 to Waves 1 and 2 of the PTU – last week. And that’s where it still is this week. Which is probably fine, because no one will be testing it again until probably mid-October. This is because, well, obvious reasons that Henry will cover in a minute. Also, CIG is going through a small round of layoffs, which to be clear are not WIDESPREAD layoffs, so they hardly count as layoffs at all… except to the people who got laid off. And finally, once again proving that the only thing worse than being right is being early, Squadron 42 may be getting a console port. And this time, it’s not some crazy podcaster theory or anonymous Something Awful post. Oh no, this comes straight from a CIG board member… herself.
Starfield released to folks who preordered the game late on August 31, the day before we recorded this show. Half of your hosting team jumped FULLY onto that hype train, and the other half got a good night’s sleep. So now, here’s the part where Geoff and Tony try to talk about the game without giving anything away or being too “judgey” before finishing the whole thing. Brian and I will take turns plugging our ears, trying to ask questions that don’t result in spoilers, and trying to act interested while Geoff and Tony talk in code about things we don’t understand yet.
- Have you successfully seduced anyone in Starfield yet? Brian is asking for a friend.
- Will the addition of the Humagoids fill the Thargoid Fun Hole?
