Elite: Dangerous

Elite Dangerous is really committing to the bit here, by releasing a server update schedule for Update 17 that is supposed to happen on Monday October 16. OK, Frontier, all right, I like your style, your swagger. We’ll go with it. Also, the first pod people have been rescued and supposedly they’re all perfectly normal and everything is fine. We’ll see if that stays the same on Monday. And finally, Tony still believes, SOMEHOW, that something exciting is going to happen when they turn the servers back on. Let’s all laugh at him now and get it out of our systems so that we don’t rub it in during next week’s show while he’s recovering.

Star Citizen

Star Citizen has once again updated Early Access Pre-Alpha Release Candidate Prototype Experimental Test Build 3.21 on the PTU, and once again updated 3.20 on the Live server, which they weren’t going to do, what with 3.21 being the patch needed for Citizen Con. But not anymore! 3.21 content required for Citizen Con is now in 3.20, so there’s a slightly lower chance of a crash when they demo things at the big show. I mean, they wouldn’t do a two-day marketing extravaganza just to show some pre-rendered video or choreographed gameplay, right? RIGHT? Oh, and about that Citizen Con content? Would you believe it’s all about selling a ship? A ship that wasn’t really supposed to be for sale until after Squadron 42 comes out. And it’s not like you can just BUY this ship. No, there are some hoops you have to jump through first before you can spend $300.

Star Trek Infinite

Star Trek Infinite dropped yesterday and it’s everything a Stellaris addict and Star Trek nerd needs to avoid getting a good night’s sleep. It’s a little buggy and a little clunky and some of the game mechanics don’t directly translate to a Star Trek experience, but overall, it’s worth the $30. Now Tony just needs to buy 8 hours of his Thursday night back.

Community Questions

  • Tell us about the F8C Lightning, is it Win to Pay to Win, or just a brilliant way to clean out the Squadron 42 asset closet?
  • Elite Dangerous on the Quest 3? Is it a great idea or the best idea ever?

cq1) Typically when you feel the urge to ask that, the answer is yes, and most importantly that is just the start. That is how it worked out/is working out in Fallout 76.

    wonderful show everyone.
