Elite: Dangerous
Elite Dangerous is rolling right along with the end of the Thargoid invasion. The players have almost beaten down the second titan. It’s fairly likely that by the time you download this show, the Leigong Titan will be nothing but a cloud of caustic dust and sweet memories. Speaking of caustic clouds, the one that marks the grave of Titan Taranis has dissipated a little, and commanders are starting to haul little treasures out of it. And there’s one in there that demands a little theorycrafting and speculation.
Star Citizen
Star Citizen released Early Access Pre-Alpha Release Candidate Prototype Experimental Test Build 3.22.1 Hotfix 9097523 [dash] 9101073 to the EPTU server this week. This build tested some new changes that are crucial to the next ship sale event! Coincidentally, that new ship sale event just so happens to do something totally unexpected! If players participate in the new Overdrive event, they will receive an upgrade token that breaks another one of CIG’s original promises! That’s right, that token will allow players to own and fly the F7A Mark 2, the military version of the F7C Mark 2! And wouldn’t you know it? That ship is on sale now for only $175. Speaking of money, CIG finally filed their 2022 reports over in the UK. And you know Tony is going to have a good time when the books are so bad that CIG won’t even tell their accountants the truth.
Helldivers 2
Helldivers 2 continues to surprise and delight everyone from players to press. Last week, Arrowhead Games introduced mechs into the game – and let everyone try them for free – after an in-game campaign to unlock them. They also released a patch that included a balance pass for the weapons in the game, including buffs AND nerfs, that managed to only ruffle a few feathers before everyone just… moved on. Next, they added a new flying bug to the game, while denying its existence out-of-game but in-character. And now, they’re dropping hints of the expected new enemy faction in game that has everyone buzzing. Hey guys, SLOW DOWN, don’t burn everything all at once!
