Links & The Like

Elite: Dangerous

Elite Dangerous released a small dot patch this week which made a few stability and bug fixes and dropped a new upgrade for Guardian weapons. If you’re willing to part with some top tier Thargoid chunks, you can ask Engineer Ram Tah to make your Guardian Guns Titan-proof. The new immunity should make it easier to damage the Titan heat core as you try to earn that sweet ship decal. Speaking of killing Titans, Titan Oya is just about dead, despite Frontier’s best efforts to slow us down. As it stands now, it will be dead in just under 12 hours from now, and it will go boom 24 hours after that. And the new Supercruise Overcharge is shaping up to be a good way to avoid some interdictions, but it’s not foolproof. Finally, Frontier needs to brush up on the word “redundant” in the context of laying off workers. Or they could just do it the American way in the first place.

Star Citizen

Star Citizen released Early Access Pre-Alpha Release Candidate Prototype Experimental Test Build 3.23.0 EPTU.9148240 to Wave 2 PTU testers. The Epic Month of May is almost here, and CIG is celebrating by selling over 3500 tickets to Citizen Con 2024 and by not having any updates for the Progress Tracker. As this recording date is exactly six months after Citizen Con 2023, we thought we’d check in with the list of promised features that are supposed to make it into the game before the end of 2024. And, well, it’s going about as well as you’d expect from CIG. And despite dropping cargo and freight elevators from 3.23, there’s still a pretty long list of features that are going in.

Helldivers 2 and Starship Simulator

Helldivers 2 has another hit on its hands with the Democratic Detonation set and has admitted that maybe they overdid the fire damage thing just a smidgeon. Also, Starship simulator has just finished its Kickstarter campaign, and wouldn’t ya know it, smashed through over half of its stretch goals.

cq1) This is an odd situation, due to SG constantly blending/bending the meanings of terms. Personally, I have no skin in the game right now. Typically i do not mind a wipe.
cq2)It depends entirely on the bugs. Graphic issues are super minor, but CTD is important .Balance issues are only of interest if there is pvp.

    O Chiv, never change.

    Wonderful show everyone.k
