Elite: Dangerous
Elite Dangerous is running another community goal and once again they seem to more or less be getting it. This one also supports a new patch for the game that tweaks both colonization and Powerplay 2.0, and it seems like they might be CLOSER to getting it, but maybe they’ve got a little ways to go. And they’ve announced the next early access ship, the Panther Clipper Mark 2, which is better than the Mark 1 in that it’s no longer a wireframe polygon.
Star Citizen
Star Citizen released Early Access Pre-Alpha Release Candidate Prototype Experimental Test Build 4.1.1 PTU 9733265 to all waves of the PTU. Everything is ready for the Epic Month of May: the new missions, the Polaris tour, the ship sales and the server stability. Let us, here at the Guard Frequency, be the first to predict that everything will go according to plan at this year’s Invictus free-fly event. It will truly herald the arrival of the year of quality content and stability. In even more good news that we definitely believe, the funding tracker shows that CIG is running WAY ahead of last year’s fundraising and is making more money than EVER BEFORE. And we know that’s right because the Glassdoor reviews of all the former CIG employees definitely reflect a well funded machine. And finally, we’re proud to announce that CIG is ready for the big time, as Squadron 42 and Grand Theft Auto 6 are going mano-a-mano in the video game marketplace in 2026.
Dune Awakening
Dune Awakening has a beta weekend coming up from May 9 through May 12, where players will NOT be under a non-disclosure agreement as they test the first 20 hours of the game. There’s a link to the sign-up via Steam in our cleverly named discord channel “A-Rakk-of-Spice.”
Helldivers 2
Helldivers 2 has promised that – and this is an actual quote – “You’ll Shit Your Pants”. The only other detail revealed in the IGN article was that you WILL NOT need that clean underwear on May 8 when the next warbond comes out. So you have a little more time to do laundry.
Hunternet Starfighter
Finally, speaking of new shorts, Hunternet Starfighter has released a couple of YouTube clips showing off asteroid collisions and its new flight model.
