Elite: Dangerous
Elite Dangerous announced the upcoming addition of the Anaconda Mk 2 to the game next month. A lot of folks guessed right on this one, so there will be no bragging about our prediction this time. With the projecting cockpit and the split nose, it looks like the Federal Corvette and the Krait Mk 2 had a baby. No specs have been released yet, but the devs confirmed it will have a QUOTE extra large END QUOTE hardpoint. And they also announced that the next feature overhaul will be the crime and punishment system. Again, no details yet, so we’re going to crank up the speculation machine and see what it spits out.
Star Citizen
Star Citizen released Early Access Pre-Alpha Release Candidate Prototype Experimental Test Build 4.10.2-PTU.12702947 to the Evocati server. There’s a new event in testing, a broader application of the trash cleanup algorithm, and a VR feature test. And there’s a new tech preview patch, this one is testing a collision change – hopefully a change that will make it less likely for things to explode immediately. And we’ll spare a thought on the passing of a CIG Dev, Technical Director David “Bone” Gill.
Dune and Helldivers 2
Dune: Awakening is now officially out on console and the reviews seem pretty positive. Most of the players have not appeared terribly impacted by the inevitable bugs and the weird XBox and Playstation requirements. And Helldivers 2 released the Ironclad Democracy warbond with sparkly grenade pistols, a new tank and some terrible bugs.
