Elite Dangerous

Elite Dangerous will deliver Update 9 to all the good boys and girls – and also us – next week! Otherwise known as “this week,” for those of you downloading the show on Tuesday. Unless, of course, they change their minds again after having “a few too many” at the Christmas party – yeah, some of us follow you on Twitter, Sally. Anyway, if it all goes to plan, we’ll have a new two-seater combat SRV, multi-limpet controller modules, and updated mission chains. Finally, Arf has promised a sneak peek at carrier interiors before the team calls it quits for 2021, and teases the QUOTE conclusion END QUOTE of the Azimuth story but also QUOTE cannot wait to expand on it, WINKY FACE. END QUOTE Sounds like someone’s new year’s resolution is filling the Thargoid fun hole.

Star Citizen

Star Citizen passed the 400 million dollar crowdfunding mark and, of course, got mounds of gaming press attention, and of course, everyone complained about the mounds of attention that INEVITABLY pointed out that the milestone comes with no released game. Our only consolation is that Cracked.com singled them out as a poster child for one of the four types of terrible crowdfunding projects. Wait a minute, I am not consoled by this… Tony, quit writing sarcastic copy!

Descent Underground

Descent Underground is going into a holding pattern at the 9th Circuit, by delaying their response to Little Orbit from December 12 to January 12. This is because, 1) as Tony pointed out last week, lawyers don’t like to work between Thanksgiving and Christmas and 2) they already have to work on the hearing in the District Court on December 16. So stayed tuned for our last show of 2021 to find out what that’s all about. Finally, we’re going to give away seven keys for Hunternet Starfighter for Christmas, so check over your naughty and nice lists and listen for details in the Feedback Loop.

Astral Shipwright

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE! Chiv is super excited about Astral Shipwright, the new game from indie developer of Helium Rain, Deimos Games. He wants me to let everyone know that there will probably be MINING in that game, so it’s gonna be a hit.
