Light No Fire
No Man’s Sky developer Hello Games took to the stage at the Video Game Awards and announced their next game: Light No Fire. And their obsession with the word “no” isn’t the only thing the team moved over from their previous game. There are weird creatures, weird creatures to ride, weird creatures to fly on, building houses, bright colored plants, swimming, and weird red obelisk things. So, it’s basically a No Man’s Sky fantasy game set on a single planet. And Sean Murray is promising multiplayer features again. We know how that goes.
Star Citizen
Star Citizen released Early Access Pre-Alpha Release Candidate Prototype Experimental Test Build 3.22 to the EPTU. This update includes some mining balance updates and fancier hair. CitCon 2023 Promise DELIVERED! Also, there is a new savior technology that we just have to be patient for – MAELSTROM. Once that is achieved, everything from destructible ship parts to real “Structural Salvaging” will be possible. Possibly. Possibly possible. Until then, enjoy your magic salvaging beams. Or maybe that’s all you’ll ever get.
A Whole Lotta Other Sci-Fi Games
Avorion did indeed release its new Behemoth patch last week, so go and grab some Godzilla tornado goodness for free. Falling Frontier, the Expanse-like RTS game has been delayed until 2025, so we have a year to play Homeworld 3 uninterrupted. And Jumplight Odyssey, a supercharged derivative of FTL, has been “indefinitely delayed” due to economic reasons… Australian economic reasons. And Elite Dangerous still exists.
